The EWGA Heart of America Chapter was established in January 1996 by Chapter Founder and President Pam Schilling supported by a core group of Leadership Board Member and volunteers. |

In January 2001, the Leadership Board voted to change the name to the Kansas City Metro Chapter giving it a stronger name and geographic recognition. |

The Kansas City Metro Chapter of EWGA was nationally recognized as an EWGA Chapter of Excellence with Distinction Award. This Award was designed to recognize EWGA Chapters for excellence in areas of Chapter management and service to members. Excellence criteria was based on earning points in seven categories including governance, membership, education, events, communications, leadership and sponsorship, and meeting minimum Chapter requirements. |

The current membership has grown to over 300 local businesswomen in the Kansas City area representing virtually every geographic location, major employer and profession. |

The Kansas City Metro Chapter is part of the Heartland Section, comprised of 10 chapters located in Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska and Wisconsin. |

Members may choose from a plethora of leagues at various area golf courses offered to skill levels from beginners to advanced. Two eight-week and one four-week league sessions start in April and run through October with Monday through Friday evening tee times. |

Golf Clinics are offered to all skilll levels for basic swing improvement and course management skills. Members can choose from supervised practice, New Golf I and II, Game Improvement and 1/2 day on course golf schools. |

Monthly golf events are offered April through October. They are typically four person scrambles at courses around the metro area. Members have the opportunity to socialize and win fabulous prizes and giveaways. |

The EWGA Championship Series is the largest amateur women's golf tournament in the United States. Members play in an annual stroke play tournament at a local, sectional and national levels. |
| |
| |

|
The three major golf-related social networking events are the Kick-Off in March, the Summer Bash between league sessions in June and the Year End Gala with silent auction in November. |
| |
| |
 |
|
Social networking events are offered on the first Tuesday of the month from September to February offering members a chance to socialize and learn from golf and non-golf related presentations. |
| |
| |
 |
|
Members are provided the opportunity to
support the Susan G. Komen Foundation and other
women's concern efforts. The Kansas City Metro
Chapter's donations are raised through
activities such as golf events, silent auctions
and proceeds from mulligan purchases. The KC
Metro Chapter supports the following charities:
Susan G. Komen, LPGA Girls Golf Club and the
UMKC Athletic Scholarship. |
